End-of-Year Celebrations

A Season of Celebration

Before you officially don your cap and gown, you’ll have several opportunities to celebrate your time and accomplishments as a student at IU Indianapolis. Some of these events offer the opportunity for reflection. Others are just plain fun.

You might even improvise and create a few new traditions of your own, according to what’s meaningful to you.

From our end-of-the-year carnival to smaller school and community celebrations, it’s time have some fun and honor the important connections you’ve made before we look to the future together at Carroll Stadium.

Commencement Weekend Traditions

Once you have your academic regalia in hand on Commencement weekend, get dressed up, grab a friend or family member with photo skills, and strike a pose at some of your favorite campus spots.

If there is time, why not squeeze in one more...

...meal with friends in the Campus Center.

...stop at the chalkboards in Democracy Plaza.

...walk through the skywalks.

...trek to the downtown canal walk while the weather is nice.

....look through the galleries in Eskenazi Hall.

...souvenir from the bookstore, and a coffee from Starbucks or Caribou.

Pump Up the Volume

Can you imagine walking proudly in the Commencement procession without music? Not a chance! Music is a part of any celebration, including graduation. Get nostalgic with the Indiana University Traditions playlist on Spotify, featuring the school song and fight song. Or create your own playlist to get pumped up with songs like “We Are the Champions” by Queen or “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” by Panic! at the Disco.
